Welcome to the 1st Newsletter of EuroVR. The EuroVR Association – the non-profit European Association for Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality was officially launched in late September 2009, after hard work invested by many people and mainly by the core team that started the the INTUITION Network of Excellence in 2004, the predecessor of the Organisation. EuroVR is the international non-profit Association designed to bring together all those interested in VR/AR Technologies and to pursue the development and further deployment of such technologies. Within this context EuroVR aims to gather industrials, SMEs, Research Institutes and Academics but also individual members with an interest in VR under an umbrella organization to promote research excellence, provide support to the community and stimulate further development of VR/AR technologies in different application areas. The founding members of the Organisation rise up to the number of 52, including the French National Chapter of VR, companies and SMEs (12), research institutions and university laboratories (22), as well as individuals (17). Membership is now open for all parties interested, provided they abide by the statutes. Within this newsletter you may find all introductory information about the Organisation and its activities, the services offered and interesting events in the field. Enjoy reading!
